QA Chapter Lead - Vice President

Built and launched a brand new bank from scratch. From before the first line of code was written, to launch and beyond. Defined and implemented the testing strategy and quality best practices for the bank. Built from scratch, and leading a chapter of over 35 QA across 20+ globally distributed scrum teams. Built and implemented mobile (Appium) and microservice test automation frameworks. Elected, for a term of 3 years, to represent UK employees on the JP Morgan employee forum.

2018 - 2019

Head of International Engineering

Built and managed an international development (frontend, backend, and mobile) team with a presence in multiple countries in order to deliver the company’s international roadmap. Ensuring the scrum development process is followed, maintaining relationships with external partners, and communicating closely with the company’s leadership team.

2015 - 2018

Test Lead

Built, mentored, and led a team of testers spread across multiple scrum teams, as well as being scrum master for one team. Spearheaded the entire testing function from inception before launch to date. Created and implemented test automation frameworks (cucumber / java / selenium / JMeter / postman) from scratch for the website, API, and mobile applications. Implemented performance testing via AWS using JMeter. Managed deployments and releases to live.

Tester in an agile team working on automated and manual testing of a card payment gateway/processor. Using Cucumber / Java / Selenium WebDriver for testing the web portal, and JMeter for testing REST API’s.

Software developer in test in an agile team working on a greenfield project for the Home Office. Developing the test automation framework from the ground up using Cucumber / Jasmine / Java /Selenium WebDriver, and implementing automated tests for each story. Also involved in setting up and maintaining the CI (Jenkins) environment and build process.

BDD Automation QA Engineer (Contract Role)

Tester in an agile team working on a large IBM WebSphere e-commerce integration project. Primarily working with BA’s to write & develop Cucumber tests and the java-based fixture code behind them using a business-driven development (BDD) approach. Tools used include: Jira, Jenkins, Confluence, Selenium, Vagrant, CentOS.

2012 - 2013

Engineer.Software/QA Engineering

Tester in an agile (scrum) team working on testing enhancements and bugfixes to Cisco's Linux (CentOS) based cloud web security service. Using tools such as JMeter for load testing, VMware/Putty for virtual environment management, and Jira for tracking stories/bugs.

2011 - 2012

Software Tester

Manual and automated testing/test planning of the Sage payment gateway/credit card processing and all the backend tools that support this. Maintaining/updating the Java/JUnit based Selenium server regression test suite. Raising defect reports through Jira, general Jira administration, reporting test completion & progress to management.

Lead tester for the company’s CRM software aimed at the membership/charity sector (GUI front-end, oracle/SQL server back-end, and ASP.net web services).

Creating and executing test plans for the company’s Java-based electricity industry software. Manual testing, raising bug reports. Verifying end user raised bugs. Putting together and applying new builds, Linux and Windows environment configuration management.
